Koninklijke Tichelaar has been approached by Van Dongen-Koschuch Architects and Planners for the ceramic exterior covering for the expansion of the Hyatt Regency Spinoza Hotel in Amsterdam. The Hyatt Regency Spinoza Hotel was built on the site of the former Children's Hospital on the Sarphatistraat in Amsterdam. Van Dongen-Koschuch Architects and Planners has added the building in the area with an appropriate, special design.

The main challenge in designing the new hotel, according to Van Dongen-Koschuch, was finding an idiom that would do justice to the history and complexity of the location. On architectural level, the agency achieved this by preserving the three historic façades and incorporating them into the new structure. This has been done in each of the three original façades in a special way, for example by adding a green facade or forward-looking window frames. The façades of the new building distinguish themselfs through the Koninklijke Tichelaar glazed ceramic façade panels in the colors golden yellow and various shades of green and by the striking windows.
