Since 1845, The Swiss company Lindt has been producing the world’s best chocolate. Nowadays, you can find the high-quality products of this chocolatier in 120 countries worldwide. And many of you have surely had products from this Swiss brand in your hands. The headquarters, production facilities, and visitor center are located near Lake Zurich, a beautiful location to showcase this classic brand to the world. The visitor center certainly contributes to this presentation.

Christ & Gantenbein created the leading design of the building, aiming to seduce visitors with the charms of chocolate. Inside the building, you can acquire knowledge about chocolate. Additionally, there is an R&D department, a production facility, a chocolate shop, a café and office spaces. All of them centered around the metaphorical highlight of the building: a nine-meter-high golden chocolate fountain, designed by Atelier Brückner. The building itself is a classically composed, industrial box. The façade primarily consists of red bricks, reminiscent of the surrounding production facilities. The southeastern corner stands out with its white-glazed bricks and contrasting golden letters. It is these bricks that have been glazed by Koninklijke Tichelaar.

More than 50,000 bricks have been glazed, ranging in dimensions from 260x30x115 mm to 115x30x115 mm. The bricks were manufactured in Switzerland, and the white glaze has been developed by us. The glaze covers the edges, ensuring that the recessed joints would not show bare brick. This meticulous glazing process ensures a seamless appearance and enhances the overall aesthetic of the building.
