For the makeover of the monumental station Naarden-Bussum, Koninklijke Tichelaar has developed double-hard baked floor tiles with a hand-shaped character in black/grey nuances. Additionally we developed guide and studded tiles with a cream-white double- clay specifically for this project. For the restoration of the walls and pillars, Koninklijke Tichelaar glazed masonry bricks in bespoke developed transparent yellow/brown glazes, matching the original bricks. The authentic appearance of the station has been preserved completely. After this renovation the station (1874) is ready for the future.
The station of Naarden-Bussum, inspired by the brick expressionism of the beginning of the last century, is a real eye-catcher. The old characteristic details were restored. After an intensive development process, new bricks have been glazed and look identical to the original. The floor in the monumental station hall is recreated with tiles in eleven different shades and includes guide and studded tiles.
