The exhibition building in Rotterdam by architect J.F. Steel, like the City Hall and the post office, was spared in the Second World War. Because it became clear that damage was beginning to occur in the tiles themselves, and in the adhesion of the large plates to the construction of the tower, it was decided to remove a large part of the ceramic plates and to replace them with new ones. During the development we encountered several challenging problems, which had to do with the size of the tiles and the refined nuance of the green glaze. After several samples, we were able to deliver a quality that, according to us and the client, was more than good enough.
