Certificates masonry bricks and ceramic products

On 7 June Kiwa carried out the annual audit which has resulted in the renewal of the "certificate of conformity of the factory production control" for clay masonry HD units..  Masonry units category: for unprotected use in walls, columns and partitions.

Placed on the market under the name or trademark of Koninklijke Tichelaar B.V. - Makkum (FR) and produced in the manufacturing plant Koninklijke Tichelaar Makkum B.V. – Makkum (FR).

Kiwa also granted to the Koninklijke Tichelaar the  "NL BSB® product certificate" for ceramic products (BRL 52230)

The assessment directive covers pre-fabricated ceramic products that can be applied:

• in construction(-works);
• in or on the soil (land);
• in or on the bottom or side of a body of surface water,

which may come into contact with rainwater, groundwater and/or surface water.

Examples of ceramic products that fall under this BRL include: masonry bricks, pavery bricks, roofing tiles, tubes, tiles, cladding tiles/facade tiles, wall tiles, floor tiles, brick,slips, facade elements, facade units, window sills, ....

Ceramic products are mainly manufactured from clay. Treatment by means of a temperature of around 900 ° c or higher for several hours to a day result in products that are considered as durable form-proof.
