The people who make Koninklijke Tichelaar - Gerard

In this column we introduce 'The people who make Koninklijke Tichelaar'. From the salesmen to those in the factory: they all have their share in the magnificent projects we develop.

This week’s person is a special one. Why? Because since a couple of days Gerard is enjoying his well-deserved retirement. Exactly 45 years and three days he worked for Koninklijke Tichelaar. Something to be proud of. He started his career as a painter of fine ceramics. The times when he worked with 8 painters in a close-knit team back in the ‘80s is something Gerard still cherishes. In the years following he served different positions. But his real passion and quality remained in the accurate work of painting ceramics. Something he could once again do in his final years at Tichelaar.

His work found its way all around the world. And can be seen in unique places such as the White House. Besides that, one could describe his works as true masterpieces. Take for example the hand-painted illustrations in authentic Delft Blue at the House of Delft. But Gerard stays humble and gets the most satisfaction out of others enjoying his work.

We, his colleagues at Koninklijke Tichelaar, want to wish Gerard all the health and joy in his retirement. And are thankful for the beautiful work he has developed!
